This explains what happens to your information when you visit toposeo.com. TopoSEO is one person, working from Illinois and serving clients in the United States, so this is short and it is written plainly.

Anything to do with this policy goes through the contact form.

What this covers

Visitors to this website. It does not cover the work we do for clients: if you hire us, how we handle your site data, your analytics access and your report is set out in our agreement with you, not here.

What we collect

What you send us. The contact form asks for your name, email address and website, and whatever you write in the message. It arrives as an email and is not stored in the website’s database.

What the server records. Like every website, ours keeps access logs: your IP address, browser and device, the pages you asked for, and when. They exist to keep the site running and to look into abuse or faults.

What analytics record. We use Google Analytics to see how people find and move through the site: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what referred you, and what device you used. It does not keep your full IP address.

We do not take payments here, and we do not ask for anything sensitive: no financial details, no government identifiers, no health information, no precise location.

Cookies, and how to stop the analytics ones

Some cookies keep the site working and remember what you chose on the cookie banner. The rest are Google Analytics, which uses them to tell one visitor from another so visits can be counted.

The banner records your choice, and in the United States analytics run whether or not you answer it. We would rather say that than let the banner imply more than it does. If you want them stopped, any of these work: clear this site’s cookies and block them in your browser, install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which covers every site, or ask us through the contact form and we will delete what we hold about your visits.

Declining cookies does not restrict any part of this site.

Who else sees it

We have never sold your information or shared it for advertising, and we do not intend to. We do not trade or rent it either, and we run no advertising on this site.

Four services handle some of it because they have to: the company that hosts the site and holds the logs, the email provider that receives your inquiry, Google for analytics, and CookieYes, which records your cookie choice. We may also hand something over if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Inquiry emails, for up to 48 months after we last hear from you. Server logs, 48 months. Analytics data, 14 months, which is Google’s own limit on the account. You can ask us to delete your inquiry sooner.

Your rights

Ask us through the contact form and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We answer within 45 days and usually much sooner. We may ask a question to check you are who you say you are, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.

Several US states give their residents these rights and set size thresholds that a business this small sits under. We are not going to make you work out whether your state qualifies, so everyone gets the same answer. We also honor Global Privacy Control, though since we do not sell or share anything it has nothing to switch off.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us through the contact form and it will be deleted.

Other sites

We link to other websites, including our clients’ and reference sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they do with your information.

If this changes

We will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change affects information you already gave us, we will tell you directly where we can.
